I joined AAP both to further utilize my my skills learned from working with Digital Scholarship Services in Skillman Library and to support a cause I believe in. I believe that making history known is one of the best ways to combat injustice. I first joined this project the second semester of my sophomore year. As the Digital Archives Platform Manager, I look forward to overseeing our Scalar book and digital collection. Very excited to have a part in making Black voices heard!

It's been great to see how this archive has been coming together. We have already uploaded items such as a collection of Wrapped in Black covers. In my job with Skillman Library, I have been working on a website that will serve as a guide to metadata fields. That experience been very helpful in familiarizing myself with the fields we use for our items we're adding for the AAP. I've also been spending time writing a workflow for future students looking to upload items to the archive, which will hopefully make it easier for when the project is handed over from our graduating seniors. Very excited to get the rest of our items on the site!
