Welcome: Queer Pasts, Queer Futures
The Queer Archives Project honors the experiences of the Lafayette LGBTQ+ community through the reflections of people who have lived the College's Queer history. Grounded in the oral histories of LGBTQ+ alumni, faculty and staff from 1959 to 2016, this site allows you to engage with interviews (both audio recordings and transcripts), explore key moments in Lafayette’s Queer history, access primary sources (over 150 archival objects, complete with metadata, exist on the site), and much more.
Led by a collaborative, interdisciplinary team of faculty, staff and students, the QAP aspires to illuminate Lafayette College's LGBTQ+ history and instigate institutional change. Our work is also designed to support teaching, learning and research in LGBTQ+ Studies, particularly via the College Archives and the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies program.
